Accessing Documents on the Digital Library (LTAnet)
The Digital Library was created especially for staff and board members of Land Trust Alliance member and partner organizations. You may already be familiar with LTAnet as a website separate from The Learning Center. And, you may already have an existing LTAnet account. The information on LTAnet can now be accessed from within The Learning Center.
A complete list of organizations with access to the Digital Library (LTAnet) is available by going to the create an account page. Find your organization and use the form to send an e-mail to the Alliance requesting an account.
Only those Alliance member land trusts and Partners will be granted access. Find out how your organization can join the Land Trust Alliance as a Member or Partner and learn about the benefits.
General Information about the Digital Library (LTAnet)
The library contains documents and other information in digital formats that you can access directly, download to your computer and edit for your own use. For example, the full Land Trust Standards and Practices Guidebook, along with updated appendices full of policies, sample worksheets, checklists, etc., is available. In addition, all of the Saving Land articles since 1996 and various other documents are indexed for easy searching and retrieval. We will be continuously adding more content as it is collected and vetted by land trust professionals.
The Digital Library gives you at least 3 ways to locate the information you need.
The Digital Library brings the vast library of information available through the Alliance to your desktop in an easily browsable and searchable format.
1. Text Search search the site for all materials containing, or indexed with, your search term.Use the search box in the upper right-hand corner of the site to enter in search terms.
- A search returns all the documents that contain all of your search terms.
- A search's score is based on the frequency and proximity of the search terms.
- Searches will include different stemmings of words, such as walk, walking, walked, walker.
- For help with a particular search, send email to learn@lta.org.

Choose to browse through issues of Saving Land, for example, by clicking on the Journal link in the navigation bar. By choosing to browse through a specific resource, you can focus in on a specific section of the library and quickly scan for topics you are interested in.
